Pointing the Bay Area to our true north in the Gospel
Did you know that a compass points to the magnetic north pole instead of true north? There is a declination or difference, which if not corrected, can take a traveler completely off course.
In the same way, we believe that the compasses of our hearts often point to the wrong things and in the wrong direction. In order for us to be correctly oriented, we need the gospel of Jesus Christ to point us to the true north of his love, grace, and salvation.
JAY SONG | LEAD PASTOR
Jay is the lead pastor at True North. He received his BA in Religious Studies from UC Santa Barbara and his M.Div from Talbot School of Theology. Jay is married to the love of his life, Christina. Together they have a daughter named Rylie and a son named Isaac. Both Jay and Christina are Southern California natives and will always be loyal to the Lakers. Despite this difference, they have grown to love the Bay Area, its culture, and most importantly, the people. Besides Jesus, Jay has been influenced by Tim Keller, John Piper, and the many pastors and church planters that God has placed in his life.

Eugene’s passions include the Golden State Warriors, good coffee, and finding new music. His greatest passion is to see the Gospel being integrated into all aspects of life, especially here in the Bay Area.

While Charlston has a love for making killer pancakes his greatest passion is for others, especially kids and youth, to know Jesus.

At True North, we believe that leading a church takes a team of people. God has anointed each person with gifts to serve his kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:7-11), so we believe in having men and women of character oversee administration and work to achieve the vision of the church.
