History

True North Church started with a group of believers who had a dream to plant a church in the Bay Area, one of the least churched areas in the United States. These believers had a desire to reach the fast-paced, tech-driven culture of the Silicon Valley, and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ.


 
 

January 2015

A core group of believers have a vision to plant a church in the Bay Area. Pastor Jay Song is brought on board in 2015 to carry out this vision.

 

 

February 2016

The church has its first baptism Sunday, where members publicly declare their faith to their church family.

 

 

August 2016

The church has its first retreat. Guest speaker Pastor Paul from Redeemer San Diego encourages and teaches on what it means to be a church that reaches its community.

 
 

October 2016

True North Church officially launches at Sofia University in Palo Alto, California.


November 2017

True North Church has its second retreat, “Becoming Who We Are” in the mountains of Santa Cruz, CA.


March 2018

True North Church moves from Sofia University to Greene Middle School, due to an increase of the church body.

August 2018

True North Church has its third retreat, “God, Our Father” at Redwood Christian Park with Pastor Cory Ishisda as the Guest Speaker.


September 2019

True North Church moves from Greene Middle School to Henry Gunn High School.


February 2023

True North Church moves from Henry Gunn High School to Ellen Fletcher Middle School.
