Membership
1 Cor. 12:12-13
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - Jews or Greeks, slaves or free - and all were made to drink of one Spirit.”
Jesus established the local church and all the disciples did their ministry through it. The Christian life in the New Testament is church life, and we should expect and desire the same today. To be a member of a church is to publicly profess your belief and faith in Christ. To be part of a church in the New Testament is to be a member at the church in the daily life. All metaphors of the church in the New Testament refer to a group with diverse members.
